Linc's Ride out 17th Feb 08

5 Bikes with 9 Members turned out to say 'Hello' to Elkington Tea & Cafe on a Chilly but Bright Sunday Morning.  Nigel & Jackie lead the way with Stuart & Lynn, Pete & Jordan, Keven, Paul & Lisa marking the rear.  We departed Mc Donalds Junction 30 M1 around 1020 with a quick photo shoot by Keven on our departure, heading to Retford for a quick fuel stop before hitting the roads.
Nigel took us on a nice mixture of roads and only getting lost a couple of times due to unexpected road closures etc.  Thou Keven had to contain himself on the 'Caistor High Road' long open roads with sweeping corners put a big smile on Keven's and I must admit everyone else's faces.

We arrived around 1230 and were welcomed by Sarah and her two lovely helpers, at the tea shop.  Tea and Coffee was first ordered to warm out Toes and Fingers, shortly followed by hot Beef, Turkey or Bacon Sandwiches.  With the Display of Walnut and Coffee Cake or Sponge with Butter cream and Jam Cake everyone had a piece of cake to finish (Paul's Favourite type of food, CAKE!!). Nigel had one of the first pieces and told Paul he wouldn't like it but Nigel was making the wrong noises for Paul to be put off!!.  Sarah informed us they will be hosting 'Bike Nights' during the summer so stay tuned for more information.
We Departed around 1330 for a ride back along a different route which did include the A17, Pete was a little worried that he was low on fuel and pulled into a petrol station to find it was shut, after catching up with the others Pete and his BALLS OF STEEL sat in the middle of the A17 to let Nigel and the others know he needed fuel with in the word of Keven 'Optimus Prime' bearing down on us.  Pete sat there waiting for Nigel to continue ahead (Luckily Paul with his high visibility markings, all the traffic slowed down and let us continue without even a sound of a horn)

With a Quick Stop for a Hot Chocolate and Kit Kat at the Barge in Newark, to warm ourselves and lower the tone of the place a notch or two.

We all arrived at Junction 30 M1 together and then waved and headed our own way home.

A Great Day out was had by all

I can recommend a visit to Elkington and have a cuppa tea and a piece of cake anytime
