Skegness 14/06/08

so, we set off for skeggy on Saturday late afternoon. we were all meeting up at Derek's wine shop - which is very nice should you ever want any wine! we met up with Paul somewhere on the way to Derek's (don't ask me where cos I wasn't driving/riding - I was taking it easy on the back seat - you don't even need to keep your eyes open when you are there so I wasn't really taking much notice of where we were going!).
we got safely to our meet up point and Karl was already there. we were just waiting for Derek to close his shop up and deal with his last few customers (not necessarily in that order though!) Derek's nephew and his nephew's partner were there too. I couldn't really tell you what the bikes were that everyone was riding but I reckon that sort of detail doesn't really matter too much. the point was, there were 5 bikes and 8 people all about to set off for (probably) the most expensive fish and chip supper ever! but we had nice weather, good roads and fantastic company.
so Derek, Derek's nephew and his partner (don't know their names - sorry) (and my what a flexible girl she is! she did a little jump and cocked her leg right over the top box! I can't even get mine nearly to the bottom of the top box - I was well impressed!) me (Lyn) and Stewart, Karl, and Paul and Lisa taking up the rear position went down some lovely roads but I think that we end up going on the 'scenic route' as Derek took a 'alternative' route than what we'd discussed! but it got us to a lovely little pub where the food smelled gorgeous and I was feeling that perhaps we should have just stayed there cos my tummy was growling at me telling me it was time to eat. but we didn't stay there and went onto skeggy stopping at Willingham woods for a 'comfort break'.
we went to a very nice fish and chip shop and had a nice tea followed by a stroll to the sea front and then ice creams and donuts (there goes my weight watchers diet!) After we had all been fed and watered we headed back away from skeggy. Stewart took the lead on the way back (with me on the back obviously) and Paul and Lisa were at the back again. I don't really know where anyone else was as it was starting to get dark and all you could see were headlights. anyway we all stopped at a convenient (but very expensive) petrol station and then made a stop at mc Donalds on Markham moor and let each other know about when we would each be likely to leave the group to get to our own homes as well as having a coffee.

all in all a very enjoyable evening out.

(ps this is me (Lyn) writing this Paul and not Stewart - but you probably guessed that from the bit where I described being on the back with my eyes closed!)
