Skegness 19/08/07

We arranged to meet up the West Yorkshire Brach at around 0930 in Horsforth.  So Three Shires Arranged to Meet early at 24h Cafe just off junction 35a of the M1 (normal Northbound meeting spot).  Due to the weather we managed 4 members +1 Guest, (Richard, Brain, Paul & Lisa and Ian).  We had a cup of tea and waited to see if anyone turned up late as normal.   We rang Big Steve to check there weather situation where unfortunately the weather was heavy rain and dark black clouds over the way we would be travelling.  So after a group meeting we decided to head for Skegness, after all if in doubt head to Skegness nice twisty roads after all.
Brian decided not to join us for the ride to Skegness as he was heading there tomorrow so Richard took the lead with my long time friend Ian in middle and Myself and Lisa on Pillion making up the rear.
We took the back roads via Gainesboro and Retford and then some roads I'm sure aren't on the road Atlas but there fun all the same.  We stop for a cuppa at the Woods and then headed to my wife's parents caravan at Inglemels for a chat rest and another cuppa before heading into Skegness for some fish and chips at flippers.  We parked near the burnt down remains of the Parade where my CBR decided that it was to hot and spat some anti-freeze onto the floor.  Quick check of the CBR water system found plenty of water in system still so a suspect overfill and a none running fan was found to be cause.
The gods where kind to us and only had some light showers for the most part on way down to Skegness,  thou the dark clouds started to gather in the west so a quick walk around Skegness stop for Photo of the remains of the Parade and we set off back to South Yorkshire.  Yepp the rain did come down hard on way back in a few spots but the roads where enjoyable so and some polite car drivers made the journey home quick.  Upon arriving home I check the fan problem and found the 10A fuse to have blown ( Maybe little to much Jet washing ooops ).

I Hope all at West Yorkshire that did ride out had an enjoyable day even if the rain wasn't as kind to them.  See you all at Pyerats
